Woof. Thrown straight into a New York City high society party with a dozen characters and omniscient point of view. This is a LOT.

The possibilities for disaster are endless. I love it.

I’m such a sucker for reading about rich people. It’s like a guilty pleasure.

Ha ha. I already know I’m not this book’s audience. Moving on!

Ooh. Yes. Been having a lot of trouble connecting with books but I am very into this. It’s sort of reminding me of Margaret Atwood’s “The Edible Woman.”

Yikes. I know 25% is usually where I tap out but if a book has no quotation marks or even paragraph breaks in the dialogue, it’s a hard no. Not for me.

Every time I read one of Leylah’s books, I discover something new to do with Greek yogurt!

You know what, this is ridiculous. I’m not into it. It’s beautifully written, it’s atmospheric, it’s interesting. It’s typically my jam but right now, I’m just not into it. I’m moving on. I have nothing bad to say about the book. It’s me.

I know I’m extremely late to the party, but the writing is really beautiful.

Fredrik, I adore thee. But you don’t have to keep telling me they’re fourteen. I got it.

Pushing through because we’re reading this for book club, but I have opinions.

The writing is bugging the shit out of me. The dialogue especially is so flat and canned. Joan talks like a robot. “Yeah, it will be fun.” It will? People use contractions. It’ll be fun.

This book is a perfect example of why I dislike first person POV.

This is boring AF.
