About 25% in. At least Betty is dead, now. And the backgrounds are covered. So onward to the investigation, the defense and the trial.

Through the first chapter. Got interested while watching Love and Death. Didn’t rember reading this book or the case. This book was the basis for the series.

Takes about the first 25% to setup. But starts picking up steam.. Hoping there is some kind of twist coming. That Edmund didn’t kill the 2 women, ala BTK. You know, the nice suburban husband with some super dark violent tendencies.

Just getting started but needed a break from my “thriller mystery” of the last book. This is that for sure. A lot of the references Oscar throws are past their prime and then some. And hs view of marriage is awful! But maybe he’s kidding? I guess I might find out.

Well written, smartly laid out. A page turner.

halfway in. Started off okay. A fast read, so far. Reminds me a lot of Gone Girl. I can't place my mind on exactly why. The story is reading rather odd. The woman runs a business but doesn't do much about it. Bakes, takes pictures. Maybe she's an influencer. But she doesn't answer her texts or emails for days. She has taken in this stranger which rings really false to me. She doesn't seem happy with BF. Easy read

Slow slow start. Doesn’t really get going until at least 25% in. The first 2 hours is character intro.

About 1/3 in and things are beginning to happen. Definitely a slow starter..

Now it reminds me of Gone Girl. First part narrated by Jane, the second part by Bea and I assume the third byEddie. One thing doesn’t make sense right now, if Eddie killed Blanche, why not Bea? I also assume all that will be cleared up in the Eddie section along with the promised twist.

The title story. Wow great ghost story..

I liked the way it started. But now once in the meat of the beginning I’m not feeling it. I like the interview and then the switch to a blog format. But now we are just being narrated by Merry.

The intros to these novellas/stories are well worth the price of admission!

And now I really hate this book.. Getting Koontz preachy and has a chapter on the Goldfinch painting.. Read the book, it's much better than this tripe...

Okay getting frustrated.. This book.. It's supposed to be a story of a 58 year old man. I am now halfway through and not much has happened. The kid is still 10 and had some weird run ins with neighbors and has a nasty father, He has weird dreams, And friends that are investigating a maybe plot. But the worst thing is the " I'll tell you that later" the author/narrator uses. One more time and I'm done!!!

Disturbing.. There are times I have to put this down because it is so disturbing, disgusting.. The railroading of not 2 but 4 men is just not right..

I can tell this is going to have preposterous ending.. Been good so far if a little padded. But not liking the way this going.....

So far so good. I'm trying this again....

Just 6 hours left.. People are starting to die now, besides those that died in the Super Flu and aftermath.. Finally....

A long slog.. Seems much more inflated and wordy than I remember..

Still hate this book.. Everyone is maddening...

I have been yelling (not in a good way) at the narrarators of this book. Very frustrating. No redeemable qualities on any of the main characters. And the format (police drama) is not my cup of tea..
