Update: I’m officially dnfing. I thought this was going to be a romance but it’s more of a women’s fiction novel. I don’t care about all the side relationships, and the FMC is rather annoying. I also see NO chemistry between her and who appears to be the MMC.

This is where I’d typically dnf, however I don’t have time to start anything else before my surgery on Thursday so I’m just gonna try and push through…

Starting this one again… my reading tastes have changed so much in the past year, and I think I will really enjoy it this time!!

Why do the books with the cutest covers have to be sooooo painfullyyyyy boring…

The way this book just went from a 4 star read to a generous 2 star read in the span of one chapter. Violet sure talks a big talk of learning to love and understand Cole through his PTSD, yet when it actually comes time for her to do that. She cant…

It would be different if he wasn’t trying, but the man has been in therapy for years, AND he’s trying to communicate. She’s the one that flipped out on him.

I just don’t understand how this is going to be wrapped up in the next 150 pages. We still have to deal with both the New Republic AND Cressida who has been mostly absent most of this book, yet remains to be a MAJOR problem… I’m just glad Gideon is finally getting a smidge of character development…

I truly don’t think Gideon gives a crap about Rune. He couldn’t care less what happens to her. This is the most one-sided “romance” book I’ve ever read.

Gideon makes me physically ill. How is anyone rooting for him?
