In the novel, Darling is supposed to to fight during war and protect Katherine’s and Robertson father. During this time, a significant moment was when the soldier didn’t believe in Darling and thought she was going to fail the training. Although, Darling made it through and amazed everyone. This shows that she wouldn’t give up to see her loved one again.

Currently, Karana’s brother just passed away since some wolves attacked him. After that, Karana found a wounded wolf that she calls her own now. The island that’s she’s on has an abundance of flowers during no the spring because of winter’s rain. There were lots of birds and humming birds. Also, there are dunes covered with mats of sand flowers.

Currently, Hector created a song and he isn’t still trying to impress a girl in his guitar class. He was also thinking of a place to take her. In the novel, the author put in a “texting” way of writing. This is nice this because I could see what one person is saying and I could see if this is or isn’t during modern time (because phones are in modern time.) There isn’t something that I would dislike in this.

In the novel, Hector is going through guitar lessons and seems to be jealous over Dan because Dan was walking with Meadow (a girl hector probably likes.) Debbie was also helping out her dad with the sink.
A conflict that is going on is conflict vs self because Hector is thinking low of himself because he saw how Dan acts and thinks Dan is greater than he is.

In the novel, Lady Thorton still doesn’t like Ruth. Also, Jonathan comes home and there is joy in the house. Right now, Ada should be grateful that Lady Thorton payed for her surgery (for her foot.) Ada said that she didn’t want to be grateful about her foot but she has to be grateful because if Lady Thorton didn’t pay for her surgery, the surgery probably wouldn’t have happened.

The best character in this book right now is Susan because even though she seems bothered by the fact of having Ruth in her house, she still treats her well and doesn’t look at her like everyone else’s does.

Ada is still not happy with having Ruth at her house, and it’s the same with Lady Thorton. Maggie, (Lady Thorton’s daughter) also came home and wanted to stay there but her mother wouldn’t let her because she would be safer at school.

(CONTINUATION OF UPDATE) Lord Thorton brought in a project and Lady Thorton said that “[she] will not have a German in this house” (197.) This is important because it shows what time they are in (World War 2) and what their opinions are.

The Thorton family moved in with Ada. They had to move in since they got kicked out of their house by the government. Ada was the only one that wasn’t very happy with the idea of them moving in, but once Lord Thorton came home, Susan and Lady Thorton became startled.

Right now, everyone is still kind of sad about getting no Christmas Gifts. I think that they should be a little more grateful than they are right now because at least they can eat and have shelter while others can’t.

In Little Women, there are 4 sisters that aren’t that grateful because they didn't have Christmas presents. Meg than says, “Mama ought for us to not have Christmas presents this year, and we ought to not spend our money for pleasure” (1.) This quote is significant because this shows me that Meg is mature and she’s understands the situation. It also shows why their mom didn’t let them have Christmas Presents.

Currently, there are two people named Jasper Jr. and Bull that are “bullying” Noah. Jasper Jr. punched him in the eye and then spit in his face. This is a Character vs Character conflict because these characters have a problem with each other and they haven’t found a way to fix it yet.

In the book, Noah ant trying to convince his dad to let his mom bail him out of jail. But, the dad isn’t agreeing to it, he doesn’t want to get out of jail because he wants to show that he is committed to the cause. Right now, it seems like it is modern time. The jail does greatly affect the plot because if Noah’s dad wasn’t in jail, the story would be different. This story cannot really be taken anywhere else.

August is at school with his Halloween costume. One significant thing that is happening in the book right now in the book is when Jack Will (August’s best friend) said that he would kill himself if he looked like August (Jack was talking behind his back.) This is significant because they have been really good friends for awhile and Jack just started talking behind August’s back and didn’t even know August heard him.

Right now, August made 2 new friends, Jack and Summer. He’s been hanging out with them for most of his time. He also doesn’t like to have his school picture taken. When he was taking his school photo with his class, (he was sitting in the front) he didn’t smile. August is a very cautious person because he’s always thinking about what people would think about him and how people look at him, especially his face.

Right now, August is taking a tour of the school that he will be going too. Although, because if Julian, it wasn’t a good start. A topic that would be good to research is about August’s condition.

Ari is at Chloe’s house left with Nate because Gage and Chloe went to the Laundromat to wash clothes. Ari right now is annoyed because Nate keeps asking her question she while she’s busy.
