So excited to begin my third book by this wonderful author. Couldn’t have come at a better time 🫶🏻

Almost finished with this utterly grim tale and right now my thoughts are 1. #justiceforedgar… that poor bloke had no idea what he was signing up for marrying Catherine Ernshaw, and he’s basically the only character worth something in this whole dang book and 2. It’s very interesting that most of the story is told from the perspective of Nelly and I’m not sure I completely trust her as a narrator.

Wow, this book is getting dark. How I feel for poor Isabella Linton.

Ok, I know this is childish but documenting the old meaning of current language is making me chuckle. This morning’s reading involved Nellie recalling a time she caught Heathcliffe and Cathy as children commiserating and she says “I left the poor things unmolested” and I’m just like uh YEAH YOU BETTER DAMN WELL HAVE LEFT THEM UNMOLESTED WOMAN💀haha

reading this book mainly to improve my vocabulary and it’s starting to bother me how many times Ms. Brontë uses the word “ejaculated” to describe someone speaking haha 🙈 clearly the meaning of language changes over time
