I wonder why Ruth thinks Daughtie isn't capable of looking after herself.

This book keeps me interested because of how some of the topics relate to things in today's world.

My favorite character is the big Quaker, Thomas Garrett, because he is brave and stands up for people.

So far I like the action in the book that has happened already.

So far I like this book because Franklin Newberry is the kind of father who is always willing to help his children.

"Nina had spent every dollar of her savings on five economy tickets and one pet pass on the fast rail: she couldn't afford to splurge on window seats" (288). This is my favorite quote because it shows that Nina would spend her last dollars on her friends. It shows how caring she is.
