I wonder why Brian said yes to going back and surviving in the wild with Derek willingly.

My favorite character is the main character, Brian Robeson, because he's a boss. He survived 54 days in the wild, hunted, made shelter, almost killed himself, but he basically slapped himself and said that he's himothy.

my favorite phrase or quote was, "The droning of the engine made him drowsy and his eyes closed, then opened again, and he
thought--looking across the wilderness, half asleep--he thought, lord, what a wonderful place this is, and knew it was a kind of prayer"(pg 51).

After surviving in the book Hatchet, Brian Robeson survived 54 days in the wilderness by finding resolutions to all the unbelievable challenges. Now he returned to ordinary high school life but can't seem to fit in. He feels more disconnected in ordinary life than when he was back in the wilderness. There is only one solution to find himself, return to where it all started.

I strongly believe that my protagonist Brian is in a Person vs. Society conflict. He survived in the woods for quite a long time and the forest became his home and his way of life. I believe it's hard for him to now get back into the norm of normal human life in a society with school, shopping, etc(1-30).

Human vs. Human, Brian fought Carl. (8-12).

1980s, Family Counseling Office
My new favorite scene is when Brain is describing the northern lights to his therapist(family counselor), It is by far my new favorite because he explains how he feels like there is a meaning to the northern light to the Inuit and him. It's almost like he's at peace for once in his life after surviving in the woods. (Pg 19)

Main Setting Currently is the School/Pizza Parlor; My favorite Scene is when Brian starts to fight against Carl(Paulsen 9). Extends to page 12 though. My favorite scene because it demonstrates Brian's skills of survival that he has learned.

"'We--we're--gonna be living here, I hope'"(Flake 87). I chose this because I can agree with it because I have moved houses before and know what it's like to see the new house that I will be living in.

"'i love making money'"(Flake 71). I chose this quote because I think many people can agree with this statement. I love making money as well but having money isn't always good, which leads me to say that money is many things, money is around us, money is on us, money is everywhere. Money can make us happy, sad, or even mad, but one thing that money is not, is human.

I like my book because the author writes in the perspective of the teen girl in which she(author) makes sure to write it with slang and language that a teen would normally use on a daily basis. The book would've been boring if it was written normally but since the author chose to write it with some slang and accent to it.

Realistic Fiction
This book is a stop and think because I have to stop and think about the plot and really imagine and put myself into the story so I can understand it to the fullest.
