I believe Meris's mom might have been assassinated. She must have done a lot of work in the city because her painting includes parts of buildings. This means she must have been a big name in Chicago and someone might have had a bone to pick with her.

On page 62 the auther used foreshadowing when he wrote down the mystery that would happen through the next chapter. "A rare 1925 Bugatti was tethered to chains and sunk into Italy's lake maggiore as a penalty for the nonpayments of duty taxes. It was rescued from the bottom of the lake in 2009 to be sold for charity and now sits decrepit and unrestored in a museum in Southern California."

Great book. Its one of those few times when all the side characters are important and only useful characters are heard from. The conflicts and the whole idea of the book unique and Gordon pulled it off well.

I think the story would be different if it was told from Aaron's point of view. I think the story would start with him hearing about the accident then jump to the scene where he hears about how chase got amnesia and has to help chase regain his memory.v It would be strange because in books the main character is usually the one who had something strange happen to him. But it would also be a one of a kind story.

I find this a great book and would recommend it to anyone who likes the titanic and nonfiction from peoples perspective. It gives a prospective never seen in any titanic book. It does not mainly focus on the crash but everything from building to probably the sinking. (I can't say I haven't made it there yet.) One thing that I find interesting is that almost all the people the book talks about taking the ship to
