Incredible so far, you can feel the endgame taking shape with every chapter. From the abandoned crime scene that was the end of the first book, a far more terrible monster rises up, gaining strength with every scene, panting in the neck of the plot.

Well constructed, but the prose lacks creativity, the pacing lacks dynamism and the characterization lacks emotion, preventing the story from having the gravitas that makes a book worthy of being 800 pages...
