Suspect I probably won't finish this one. Doesn't really work as a detective novel and I'm not finding it hilarious and it's really starting to grate.
I don't mind the format that the book uses or the use of footnotes (appendix is a bit rough). But I'm not so invested that I care about the side tangents. If there was a solid core driving the book, side tangents would be fine. But eh...

I'm finding it difficult to get over the fact that the main character's step father is named Vincent Russo and it's the 90s and Vincent's boss is named Ted and theres boxing involved. If it turns out that the rival gang leader is called McManus then I'm out

Really? How long have you been working on this and you haven't accidently seen the answer?

There's currently too many characters most of whom aren't that interesting, so I'm loosing track of all but the main three.

Eh... it's a bit of a slog at the moment.

What a wonderful premise. Wild West steam punk with a healthy dose of magic....

But oh this is a tough read... the writing style is rather bland and the world doesn't really hang together well.

Not feeling it.

But it feels like 210%... gawd.. just be finished already

So much speculation and such a quick ending. Remembered this being much better. Still good though.
