Fanon describes a woman being raped by the French,yet the focus shifts to how the husband sets aside his wounded ego and rationalizes the event.This centers the man’s psyche,diluting the woman’s experience.Although he shows gained collective awareness,it normalizes violence against women.This is a pattern in anti colonial works,where women’s rights are sidelined as separate from larger struggle for liberation

My god… the glorification of eugenics and optimization of a population makes this a dystopian horror rather than a utopian matriarchy.. I did not expect that at all . I went in blind which was probably a mistake since I had very high expectations.

At first the amount of characters was difficult to keep up with and match the different quirks to each , but halfway through I’m able to enjoy the weird dynamics and the hops between the three sisters.

It’s getting harder for me to enjoy this genre of contemporary fiction

Very eerie and randomly peculiar details that I can’t string together… maybe that’s the point

I have no connection to either brother, nor do I care about their story. Both are too unlikable and one dimensional to develop any meaningful relationship with the reader.

My god!! Both brothers are unlikable . I now remember why I DNF’d a couple months ago
