Reading books that take place in my home state never fails to feel like a jump scare

for those who I don’t talk to #onthereg I am reading 31 books in 31 days in August cause I did that last August kind of on purpose kind of on accident so I want to see if I can do it again so if you see me logging an insane amount of books this month that’s why 🤪

This book is a fever dream

This is def my fav of the series. I #love this book and I’m having such a good time rereading it. This love story just makes me so happy which is really saying something cause it takes A LOT for me to root for a man

Ok I would just like the people to know that I have recovered and am no longer pissed off.

I am yelling in my apartment (by myself) I am so pissed off.

I have a musing that I’m sharing with the people: if I was an academic in the field of literature and had to do research for a PhD or grad program I would write my thesis on the omegaverse. It is just so bizarre to me that something that is so egregiously based on gender roles in a way that’s often offensive also defies gender rules at the same time.

Reading the scenes w Paloma now that I’ve read her POV in Unbound just makes me sad. I’m so excited to reread this whole series after book 4 comes out in October, I’m fucking pumped.

And so what I’m hearing is I need to go to Portugal … I love the queer book niche of like going on a European tour of some kind and falling in love with life and also a person … see The Pairing by Casey McQuinston

Guys I’m being so serious the last time I read this book was exactly a year ago to the day. What an absolutely insane coincidence. Also if you’re asking yourself why I’m rereading a book I gave 3 stars for the third time I would say that u can just feel free to ✨ignore that✨ cause in the words of Kendrick, I’ve been going through something :)

I just want to have a friendly sit down (intervention) w this author about naming things. Knockemout, Virginia ? Sherry Fiasco ? Waylay ? I just have some questions such as, who hurt you and what compels you to make names this bad

Ok I’m back literally two pages later bc I got so pissed off and frustrated that I started crying (wasnt expecting that) and (I’m home alone) I just yell-ranted to my living room about this book and the cardinal sins of the dark romance genre and how I cannot imagine reading this book and seeing it as a respectable portrayal of women, sapphic romance, or BDSM. I’m gonna give this book one more shot before DNF

The way none of them listen to Elle’s requests even in minor situations is really pmo. Like Elle asks Teresa to drop her off like a block away from where her moms are parked so she doesn’t get interrogated by her parents about who Teresa is, etc cause she’s already very visibly stressed about them visiting and Teresa just doesn’t listen and jokingly pressures her to kiss her while they’re in view?? 👎🏼

Ok the people may disagree w me and that’s fine but the authors’ have taken Xanders treatment of Elle too fucking far. I know that it’s a dark romance and whatever but there’s a way to do this dynamic without having one of the love interests push her down the stairs and drag her around the house dragging on the floor butt naked by her hair ? There’s BDSM & then there’s sexualizing abuse as brat taming

We went from 0 to 500 insanely fast that was crazy

why read a book once when you can read it six times :)

I’m taking a break from being an ARC reader because I overcommitted myself and I feel a depressive episode coming on so I need to take the pressure off and get back to my roots (rereading stuff probably)

OK, I’m going to take a brief pause on this book and by that I mean I’m going to start reading another arc that’s releasing soon and prioritize that while still slowly making my way through this book bc this book is just taking longer for me to read than I anticipated

Imagine my shock when I’m listening to this in my car and all of a sudden MUSIC STARTED PLAYING ?! do audiobooks commonly have soundtracks ?? I was bamboozled

This is so YA it hurts

This reads like a modern day Jane Austen in no way but vibes and I am having a good time but I am also scared
