I need someone to explain the authorial craft choice here to me.

I love the downstairs characters so much. I would kill or die for Mad Dog.

Kleypas is absolutely delivering so far AND her writing has changed in her hiatus.

I am enjoying this but how did it make through the line edits? They are singing happy birthday, which was written 30-40 years afterwards.

I don't know how she retconned some tiny things from book one to fit so perfectly but she did. Gotta reread a little before I write my review

Idk why I buzzed through the first three books of this series and am stuck on this one. Scared of the content?

I’m not even to the logistics management part of this why choose, we’re still in serial mode, but there’s so many moving parts of the other kind! She’s mad at A! No B hurt her feelings! She’s with C! But back to A who she was just mad at? Bygones I guess. Oh and there’s a stalker. Like I feel like taking on a team like this is plot enough.

The way this is meta and referential to a book within a book and has characters breaking forth wall reminds me of Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
