I have seen film adaptations of this book and it is well-known enough to be a trope of our society, but it really is worth reading. There are a number of things that the adaptations leave out, and you miss Dickens’ delightful humor as a narrator. The message of the book is still as stirring to me as it was when I first encountered it. An engrossing read. I could not put it down until I finished it.

In true Dostoevsky fashion, I feel like this book just picked up about the 300-page mark. The conflict seems to have really kicked in, and there's no going back. After several attempts to read this one, I think I'm going to make it this time!
