It just felt right to bring this along to read in Italy!

One minute it’s 10pm and the next minute it’s 12:30 and you have ten pages left in your book. Oops.

This is phenomenal. All I want to do is read it.

Incredibly written, incredibly depressing. I’m amazing how sad this book is.

So glad to be coming back to this after so long! I’m really gonna miss not being able to attend Sabbath School on the first few chapters.

Finally getting back into this eccentric collection. “Pretty Mouth and Green my Eyes” didn’t do much for me, I wish I had read it with someone else to discuss it with. After reading a forum on it here on Goodreads I grasped what Salinger was doing in this story, but it felt cheap to let someone else reach the conclusion for me (why I enjoy reading with others—you gain so much more out of a story!).

I… have thoughts. I LOVE HAYTE THOUGH. Best character in either of the books.

Herbert’s writing style is so unique. He can tell you exactly what will happen in the book—though the thoughts, actions and words of the characters, and yet you as the reader are still gripped on the edge of your seat anticipating the buildup of a universal catastrophe. “Will he do it?” “Will he do it?” “Will he do it?”

Been wanting to read this for a little while, and the audiobook just so happened to become available right as 2 others I’m anticipating became available! It’s a good day.

Pretty good so far. The prose is written in a way that makes me think Kalanithi was pretty proud of his prose- the same feeling I got from “Everything Happens for a Reason”, but this is definitely better written. Learning a lot about the life of a doctor I’d have never known otherwise!

This book continues to knock my socks off. This should be required reading!

Now this feels like a sequel to The Giver. I’m getting tired of Lowry’s repetitive style that pervades each book in this series, but this one is off to a good start.

So close to part 3! The spiritualism is getting weirder, but the themes of selfishness and fate are fantastic. Seems like a lot of what I’m reading right now is about the evils of self-centeredness. Bryant’s book counters that with the epitome of the gospel.

Watched the first movie, and loved it as an adaptation, but as a film so much context was lacking! Loving the book, though, and the vibe of the movie was amazing.
