What kind of fancy high school lets ninth graders do an independent research project in Greece with a prize pool of $5k? I fully thought these were grad students lmao

JUST learned from incidental outside research that this features actual characters from Irish mythology and isn't just a fictional world of hot fairies like every other fae book. Is that why NONE OF THE WORLD BUILDING HAS EVER BEEN EXPLAINED??? Am I supposed to have a comprehensive understanding of Irish mythology???? I don't get even a little bit of handholding in what's being marketed as a YOUNG ADULT novel??? FML

I'm naturally skeptical of anything that compares itself to Gideon the Ninth, but I gotta say this cheeky narrator actually does remind me of Gideon's voice. Loving it so far. Won me over super quick.
