How many times can this author use the word palimpsest in one novel? Was it word of the week or??? I really like this book but that’s genuinely annoying me.

Struggling with the Egyptology of it. Feels like a textbook. 😩

Pretty turned off by derogatory attitude toward homosexuals and also stereotypical depiction of Asian character. Try harder.

Mystery had me up until 2am reading!
