Great simplication of the Trojan War with fantastic works of art interpreted by Susan Woodford. A great to start my study of the Aeneid.

The journey to Rome begins!

Finished most of the National Parks in Alaska, pacific NW, Hawaii, and California. Next, jumping across the United States to Shenandoah in Virginia. If you like parks and geology, this course is for you.

I don't find either of the main characters are what they say they are. But I find the ongoing conversations about power and control are keeping me going.

Darn, the games are over - hopefully the book will not revert to a snails pace again.

Finally getting interesting - a very slow start for me

So so, so far.

Great book. Still takes a while to get through. However I have learned a lot about Rome and the Church in Northern Africa.

Enjoying this course very much - learning the geology of America by looking at the National Parks!

This book was recommended as the best biography to check out in The Great Courses Augustine: Philosopher and Saint. Dr Phillip Cary was absolutely correct. When you pick up the book it seems hefty and academic. But it is one of the best studies that I have ever read. For some reason I became very interested in Augustine about 15 years ago. I'm not quite sure why.

A good synthesis of what happened in the West so far. It ties the various actions together quite well and creates a clearer view of the big picture.

I am already frustrated with the organization of this book. It speaks already of his relationship with his foster sister, but no information has been given as to why he is a foster child. The author seems like he is a much better military historian than a biographer.

Nothing better than a little Whitman in the morning.

Oppenheimer is a fascinating individual.

Well organized overview of the region. I have found the reading to be interesting.

Eerily similar to what we are dealing with regarding COVID.

Can we get to the actual drive please? Interesting tidbits are shared as they prepare, but the preparations seem to be going on forever.

Fairly light reading with just enough of New Mexico thrown in to keep it interesting.
