Liked it. Loved the mature twist (widows) to the classic regency romance. Short but sweet stories highlighting the importance of knowledge, independence, responsibility, and contribution of women as well as mutual respect and value in their next marriages.

Wonderful writing and story telling. Thought provoking and heartbreaking. So many characters to fall in love with. And plenty of antagonists to struggle with. Really enjoyed listening to it.

My first Louis L’Amour book! And I really liked it! I learned a lot, wrote down lots of quotes and one liners that were worthy of remembering, and enjoyed the many ups and downs and adventures of Kerbouchard.

It was okay. A few memorable takeaways. But mostly okay.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was sweet and silly and tender and touching all at the same time. I loved the things I learned from it, historically as well as emotionally. Interesting and engaging characters and a well written story.

Loved this book just as much as the first one! It is a tender, touching, and sweet story mixed in with many historical & life lessons amidst tough emotions and experiences. Beautiful.

I just finished. And all I can say at the moment is....wow. That one left a mark.
