I revisited this book because it's one of my favorites in the horror genre. I have very fond memories of visualizing the setting, the characters, and of course the zombies that are all characterized and described so beautifully by Charlie Higson.

This is one of my favorite books of all time that I've read faithfully since Middle School. Now that I'm older, I understand the importance of friends and making the right decisions, as well as being entertained by the references to baseball in a nice combination.

This book is about my idol Jackie Robinson, and as an African American baseball player like him, I take his stories of hardship and struggle as an African American baseball player and use them towards myself.

My father wanted me to read this book as a way to introduce me to a new ideology of what it means to be a black man in America. So far I've learned many things on how to carry myself and handle myself as a black man that I will use in the future.
