Volume 11 of 27, taking a temporary break.
The story is picking up pace, enjoyably so, though something about Arakawa's use of violence as humor feels a bit Loony Tunes and out of place here. The use of violence as humor in the teacher-student relationship sits oddly with me, and a message that feels indirectly repeated is the assertion that the world is mean, and perhaps that the author wishes to find it so.

The language seems to employ more figures of speech and is trickier than much of the manga I've read before, even stuff for older audiences than this. It feels like it has a ton of potential, with Arakawa taking character relationships and broad-scale conflict and world building seriously. If there's a pitfall from what little I've seen, it's that the humor (though funny) can get in the way.

Through volume 5. Keeping its momentum.

Vol. 2 complete. The style is very heavy and very nice in many ways, hoping it meets more substance soon. The cheap sexualization isn't helping.

Next series, just finished volume 1. As usual with manga, marking progress with the entirety of the series under a single volume on this platform.

Picked up a Japanese edition in a little local bookstore when I first got to the country. Seems wholesome...

Beautiful and inspiring so far. If romances were all like this they might not have the reputation they do today.

A beautiful edition lent to me by the school librarian. I've never reading Toriyama's work outside of Dragon Ball, and this is a complete 1-volume work rather than a several-volume series, which is an added bonus.

I think they're about to beat Galactic Knight with the power of friendship.

If I don't finish this tomorrow someone should call the police on me.

Kirby talks in full sentences here, which if you're familiar at all with Kirby is quite odd.

Done with volume 9 of 18 total. This is my 4th Series in Japanese, and safe to say it's disheartening at times when the rate of unknown words per volume seems to stay the same as it ever does, but sooner or later it'll show fruit I'm sure...
The story is quite lovely, indeed as I graduate from "Yotsuba&!" and "Pokemon Special", the stories and characters are bound to get a little more gripping, which is exciting.

My second Discworld novel, and a beautiful physical copy to boot. Looking forward to traveling with this through the snow for the season.

And thus begins book 6 and the final movement of our epic saga.

IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR BUT MAMA DIDN'T RAISE A QUITTER HERE WE GO

First delving into the Discworld, and while I've heard this is among the less polished of his work, it's still quite enjoyable. The writing is witty, and in good balance, and you can see the dabblings of what will turn into much more expounded world-building later.

Been in my head since I read it in middle school for as little as I actually remembered if it, only that it was moving. Exciting to get back through it. A wholesome and moving account of family and the Jewish faith, among other things.

Endearing thus far, with genuine seeming characters and a lot of heart. First time reading Steibeck.

One day I'll finish it.
