Finished with part 3. I loved getting the backstory of Marius, which in my opinion made him a much more interesting character than in the musical. The way the end of this part ties in the Waterloo segment with the incredible climax at the Gorbeau House was incredible and the highlight of the novel so far.

Finished with part two! I was not quite as engaged as I was reading part one, but when we actually focused on the characters, I was glued to the page. I was okay with the Waterloo side tangent, but getting into the history of the convent that Jean Valjean and Cosette tried to hideout in wore on me a bit. That being said, Victor Hugo's historical tangents do serve a purpose, and I'm still captivated by his writing.

Finished with Part 1! I love how fast I am flying through this book, helps with a lot of knowledge on the French Revolution. Love that for each of our main characters, we really get to see into their souls. I can’t wait to read more and continue on.
