I am Really enjoying this. Unfortunately, my loan came due and I’m back in the queue.

I won’t lie. It is slow going. I like the writing, but I’m doing a lot of thinking as I go and I must pay attention to the reading. Side bar - this may be the thing that nudges me toward vegetarian.

For a $1 bargain at dollar tree, this has been super entertaining and fun.

I don't read a lot of steampunk, but this came highly recommended. I'm definitely getting the texture for the world this is set in. The almost stereotypically old times names are a bit of fun (Algernon Pentecost...) and the use of words like blackguard and cravat continually remind me that I'm somewhere in a likely Victorian past (though New City could be anywhere). So far, an enjoyable little crumpet!

I am bias because I co-edited this book, but this edited collection offers crucial, critical explorations concerning why the apocalypse trope is prevalent in millennial media. Counting 21 unique essays, the chapters examine different media texts through multiple academic disciplines. They are written to be accessible to fans of these texts as well as research robust for the academic set.
