Easter Sunday seems an appropriate time to pick this up off the shelf.....

Can't quite turn away, even though I want to. This book is evoking an almost constant feeling of dread in me! But apart from being pulled in by wanting to know, I'm impressed by the writing. I'm feeling that there's a real respect for the reader: lots of important things are not spelled out, but it's assumed you'll catch what's going on, and that somehow makes the twists and turns more powerful for me at least.

Brilliant writing, and also very funny in places, but this is an anxiety inducing and sad read for me! I'm going to have to continue in stages....

Wanted something fun to read in Spanish, so reading this about 25years after reading it in English
