Peeta and Katniss are very intelligent people. Peeta’s ability to ready body language and Katniss’ street smart is refreshing to read. Like, they are making me smile with the little instances they do. Unlike other book teenagers, Collin’s crafted/wrote very resilient kids.

And rebellion? How are all these people connected? (I seen the movies so I know, but not on a literary scale)

I don’t like this book really. It’s kinda boring but I’m reading it because I wanna know why it has such a low rating. And I wanna punish myself.

So far, the plot is so predictable. Like the author reveals something early and when something “mysterious” or “suspicious” happens, obviously know what’s going on

how old is hatcher again? I think I remembered something saying he's 10 years older, and any mentioning of love has me questioning his age.

NGL I don't really know what's happening in the plot. I know they have to find the Jabberwock but why? I know he's evil but why? I'm thrusted into the plot without really some type of set up that tells me why.

Literally finished the first chapter and my god it feels discombobulated. Like idk what just happened and not in a good way. Read this like I had some road block and it’s not my brain.

but I feel that to create paranoia and an unsettling presence, don't define the word right of way, let the readers figure it out, and have the characters know that's happening. Let us, the readers, be in the dark. that's a thrilling reversed-situational irony: the characters know but the reader doesn't.

ive been meaning to make a note of this.

there's probably a reason to define AUDITE in the beginning. as I continue to read, that word just breaks my concentration. maybe it's so that whenever the characters allude to the audite, we the readers are reminded of what's it doing. if they have to watch what they're saying, so should we.

there are moments where I want to learn more about the environment, the government–simply put, I want to know what the outside world is. There are many moments where the scene rushes and not much is explained.

But I can tell the writing is gonna make me roll my eyes at times. Like I will ultimately like the book but the writing will get to me at points.

ngl its a bit of a slug to read through lol. like I want the action, the romance, the DRAMA! but all im getting is nothing but a lickful of it 😭
