I really wanted to like it. The repetitions continue, the connection between Eira and Hugo came out of nowhere.
I feel the memory loss trope is misused here kinda and allowing things just to happen to the main character, such as “oh you like me, i do too think you are handsome so i keep thinking about kissing you even though i dont know you…”

Surely she can think of other way of describing a man he just met than just " oh he just so handsome" over and over again
Like i understood it the first 3 times in the first few chapters....

I’m 12% in and it’s still the first chapter…. It even had a divider in the chapter where it could have just become 2nd chapter.
I really hope the chapter lenghts become shorter because otherwise this will be a tedious read

I wanted to like it, but at the moment i’m struggling a bit. Lenore is so vague, yes she tells about her parents death but then not how she suffered with her aunt. How can i root for a main character if i get slow pieces of info but faster thoughts of her like i know all of her past already…which i dont

Tbh i’d be mad too if puppies are taken away from me…even if these are actually a fierce shadow-nightmare creatures

So I can imagine DNF’ing this series at somepoint as now its 1,5 books in and almost no character growth for Oli as the main character and Knox and North as the “love interests”
