The first half of this book is so dense. I’m really taking my time with it and trying to fully understand all of Dostoevsky’s ideas, how they relate to what was going on in Russia at the time. Each page is like a puzzle

I’m enjoying the overall feeling this book portrays, I’m intrigued by 1940s beat culture and freedom of being on the road, counterculture, etc. but definitely see where the criticism about this book comes from. Its unstructured stream of consciousness approach makes it hard to dive into a flow state while reading. It has also aged poorly in some of its outlook and language.

Pretty good so far. Bit of a ramble
