I hate it when my library Liam expires when I’m in the middle of a book. 😡

I am determined to finally finish this book, after setting it down for over a year. I lose interest after it basically become the plot of the comic book series/movie Venom (although set in space). I want to give it a fair shake, but the audiobook is SO LONG (23 hours left, sigh...)

Writing style is not impressing so far but I’ll hang in a while longer.

Dark academia is the perfect sub-genre for October.

This one is a slog. I'm just not getting immersed the way I usually do with epic fantasy. Jury's still out whether the problem is the book or me.

I was in a bit of a reading slump so I needed something that was the bookish equivalent to cotton candy. Haven't seen ANTM since the early 2000's but why not? My mom said this memoir was fun, and so far it's exactly the kind of mindless entertainment I was in the mood for (who doesn't like a behind-the-scenes expose of a very bad TV show, amirite?)

I forgot how much the protagonist gets beat up by men in this book. Oof.

Read this many years ago, but it was assigned for my book club. I remember it being very dark/heavy in subject matter, not entirely looking forward to this re-read.

Book club pick but fall is the ideal season for dark academia fantasy

This is a 35 hour audiobook and I'm not bored. That's saying something.

I don't like this book but it was chosen by my book club. I don't think I'm the right audience for a sapphic romance between a cannibalistic monster and its potential prey, but what are you going to do? I'll get through this, although I confess I'm listening to the audiobook at 2x speed.

I'm not usually into court intrigue/game of thrones-type fantasy but this one seems kind of cozy/heartwarming in ways that offset my distaste for the usual grimdark political machinations you find in fantasy novels.
