I actually used astrophages as an example in my evolution class today

The narrator is pretty annoying by but I was won over by the close parallel of his reasoning about the cells of new life forms and the principles of eukaryote evolution I’ve been teaching in my class

I’ve been teetering on the edge of DNFing this one :/

This book is basically Beetlejuice but with the Moscow literati

The plant count is up to 205 in the first 100 pages

Instead of making progress in this book today I started over from the beginning and wrote down every plant, book, work of art, garden, and historical figure mentioned so far…155 species and/or varieties of plants in the first 50 pages

I’ve been putting off this luscious treat of a book for no discernable reason for years and even after I picked it up again a few days ago I told myself I would wait to commit on GR until I finished the languishing library book that’s due soonish but you know what, it’s time.
