Absolutely loved this book!

6/29/24: I am getting so invested in this story! It brings back that nostalgic feel of my childhood summers in the 90s when we all would play outside until the streetlights came on, when we would play in the woods and explore whatever we found there.
This is one of the best books of summer so far! Especially when it puts you back into the summers of your childhood..... Well done Mr. Sager 👏🏼

I really liked this book. It kept mystery alive up to the very end and I have to say that I figured out the ending pretty quick but it was still a quick fun read.

I really loved the premise of this book. The spiritualism movement has fascinated me since I could remember. And this book took me right back to Edinburgh in the 1920s. The feel of being back in the opulence of the 1920s but to also be witness to a family like so many others that lost almost everything to the war and Spanish Flu. The way the author was able to put me in this place and time is why I loved this book.

I absolutely love how this book brings you right back to the 1920s world of spiritualism. The emotional turmoil of losing so many to not only WWI but also the Spanish Flu. We are welcomed into a family that is dealing with the loss but also one of their loved ones now claiming to hear "angels". I'm enthralled.

I am deeply enthralled by this story of not only survival from beasts but survival of the life you choose to live instead of the life chosen for you in those days. This book married my love for horror and historical fiction. I cannot get enough!!!!!

I really did like this book. The author did a really good job of making me feel that I was there with the characters. The only downside was that I felt it ended way to abruptly. Just as we were getting into the gritty underbelly it just.... ended. I still give this book 5 stars but I would've liked a bit more.

At first this book started off a bit slow it seemed to me. As I got further into the book, we then started learning more about the back story. This is where the story starts to pick up the pace and we get a few details that will pique the readers interest. I am keeping the spoilers to myself because I think if you find this book in your recommendations you should start reading it immediately! #historical #horror
