This book is kicking my butt. It's written in a simple, matter of fact style but there's alot going on. There's too many concepts to unpack on a casual reading.

Can't believe I hadn't read this earlier. Diamond will attempt to show that environment and material conditions account for differences between human societies.

This book is proof that postmodernist philosophy doesn't have to read like gibberish.

So far this is one of the best philosophy books that I've ever read.

I'm not sure what to think of this book so far. Badiou seems to be taking a stance on something that appears to be against our contemporary resignation concerning ethical matters. I use the words 'seems' and 'appears' because Badiou writes in the deliberately obscure style typical of French philosophy. I have a feeling that this book contains a gem or two, but he's gonna make me dig for them.
