I feel so many things and not all of them are good :’) but I love this book, I feel like it’s what I needed rn

I’ve been reading this book like a mad man since last night and OH MY GOD it’s SO good. Carmilla is my manic pixie dream girl, I lovvvve her, she can do no wrong

The end is in sight! 🙌 I love Daphne and Miles but I really don’t think this is gonna be a full five star for me 🫠 maybe the wedding scene will change my mind

I’m so done with this book 💀 istg I’m gonna throw it at the wall if I have to read another scene about Daphne moaning because she ate some ‘really good food’ (like a slice of pizza, or a croissant, etc) it’s so gross. It’s probably my biggest pet peeve trope in romances. It’s happened like three times now, and it’s becoming a ‘thing’ between them, I hate it and I need it to stop 🥲

Joe Keery would the perfect Miles, and Daisy Edgar Jones would be the perfect Daphne, and I will go to my grave with this. Also I livvvve for a vengeance story. ✨ (I’m used to swords and monarchy pairing along with it, but this’ll do I guess lol)

I feel so bad for Carmilla. Our girl is trying so freaking hard to get Laura but it doesn’t matter what she does, she literally can’t get through to her 😭 wdym Laura is just used to Carmilla professing her love for her and blushing and kissing her cheeks FERVENTLY in ‘fits of deep infatuation’ and Laura STILL is just like ‘nah she’s my good friend’ WHAT

I’m having a hard time getting behind the Disney character names being tossed around so casually in this fictional sci-fi world set to be the underworld. It’s really putting me off.

This might be the most five stary-est five star read that’s ever graced my eyes and ears. I’m so weakkk for an Irish accent, and miss Jesse Vilinsky deliversss brother. I love her performance in this audiobook, I wish I’d started it in audio sooner, but T. Kingfishers writing is so phenomenal, I couldn’t trust anyone bringing it to life well enough. Color me impressed.

I started picturing Daphne as an evil Sabrina Carpenter and now i cant stop picturing it. I went into this book hoping for a love interest that looked closer to Malevola(like from Dispatch) or something, but its whatever I'm still having a great time lol and I'll just tell myself she looks like malevola in her demon form! ITS. FINE.

i was so ready to not like this book, but its actually pretty good. call me a schmuck, i dont care, chapter 32 changed my mine.

the logic aint clicking in this one im afraid and its mindboggling to me. wdym youre literally jorkin it in the same room with her, telling her what to do, how to do it and stuff and you STILL think "we're just friends, this doesn't mean anything, she doesn't even like me" huh?!?! whats not clicking?!

I’m soo tired of the chivalry jokes. “Do you need me to fight them for you? Cause I’ll put them in their place!” *knuckle crack* They’ve never been that funny to me but I’m not even at the half way point and this is the fourth chivalry joke copy pasted, I’m suffering

The yearning is happening and I am eating it up

I’m kind of bored unfortunately. The tension is golden and I love Krystal, but the plot is nonexistent and it feels like the exact same sentiments are being recycled over and over in each chapter. She’s explaining who she is too much, rather than showing who she is. It’s frustrating.

i hope im not falling off, but the start of the second act is so slow im finding it hard to push through today ngl

okay so like, everyone is locked up now, huh?

charolette's voice actor has a cadence that is flowery enough to get on my nerves. i cant pinpoint exactly what its gonna make me crash tf out. Lottie is nothing like i thought she'd be and now im upset. every opportunity we've been handed to have potentially cool, mysterious, and conniving vampire love interest has been squandered or killed off. this book has almost lost its appeal for me if not for Alice.
