Listening to this purely for the male narrator. IYKYK

I swore of contemporary romances until the end of the year but then this one came up after having been on hold at the library forever, so who I am to second-guess the universe?
At the same time, I just checked the goodreads rating of this title and it's only 3.61 right now, so that has me a little worried...

Don't judge. I needed this after Onyx Storm.

I've read four chapters of this book and have 5 pages of notes about the problematic Christian-centered and patriarchal views of the authors. I truly cannot believe this is required reading for a graduate level course at any college.

This one is a DNF for me. Soooo boring.

OK, at this point, I am hate-reading this book. When do daffodils bloom in Utah? Is it June? Cuz that's when they bloom in this book, as Nellie is counting down the last 10 days to graduation.

This female narrator is HORRIBLE. It's a good thing I like the premise and the male narrator's voice, otherwise I would drop this book in a heartbeat. TERRIBLE.

This book is awful. I don't know why I am still reading it. It's a hate-read, at this point.

This is one long ass audiobook.

The autobiography is pretty much chronological, and she's 22 years old. I'm about 1/5 of the way through.

How could I resist getting an ARC of this book?! It's about a librarian! And look at the series name, "Librarians in love."

Listening to this book read by Barbra, as one should.

Holding off on starting this one... it sounds pretty heavy.

DNF @ 29%. Just not compelling.

I'll be honest. I hate this book. A. LOT. I am just listening to it now as a hate-read so I can write a scathing review.

Who in the world is this narrator?! He has the most affected voice I've ever heard (professionally)... like a BAD Tom Brokaw impersonation. I'm not digging it at all.

Logan arranged for Alexis to be a keynote speaker?!?!?! What in the world. She doesn't have any credentials...

As a children's librarian, I am finding some pretty big gaps in Alexis's reality. How can can be an assistant librarian without any degree, even though she said she wanted to be a librarian for her whole life? And I have never known a librarian to use glitter on a display of any sort, let alone brand new books...
I'm feeling pretty skeptical about this book right now...

I would be willing to bet a lot of money that the female narrator is not a real person. She has to be some kind of AI creation. Every sentence sounds the same! There is no emotion!

Why does Lilah have such animosity toward Mackenzie? I don't love it.

A summer camp hiring a counselor the week before it starts?! And Lilah's parents are fine with her leaving for the whole summer with one week's notice? And they let her drive over 3 hours to get there? Oh, and she gets paid $250 a week? This all seems really unrealistic to me.

DNF at 35%. I tried to get into this book but I just didn't like the world-building and didn't bond with the main character at all.
