idk how i feel about this

a woman writes a book about another woman from the perspective of an incredibly narcissistic misogynistic man

a review said this was like if tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow met normal people and that was all i needed to hear

ok nvm i’m now sucked in. still like not invested in the actual story/plot of it all but the characters are quite compelling and she is a PHENOMENAL writer like so good

i feel like it’s taken too long to give us the “reveal” to the point where i’m either going to a) spoil it for myself or b) lose interest

pretty prose, but kind of reads like one long substack personal essay

earthseed has finally taken root 🙏

this moves quite quickly

i have not enjoyed a protagonist this much in a very long time

ok so took a fat break from this bc for whatever reason it was flying over my head the first time (slump!) but i’m REALLY loving it this time around. so topical? so crisp? great read

i’m not gripped by it but it’s well written and interesting conceptually

a precocious young girl, a gay father during the aids crisis in america, and a love of dance

eternalism is the belief that is, has been, and will be exists right now and forever, all at once. presentism is the belief that only what exists in the present exists at all. nothing before and nothing after. no exceptions.

my heart is pounding i love the writing i love the book. i see why it has all the flowers.

this is gonna be a favorite for sure

immediately asks: why didn't the aborigines in australia invade england? such simple concepts !! so beautifully laid out !! FOR HIS DAUGHTER !! i am so obsessed with this. so cute. if i read this as a child i think it would have radicalized me much sooner.

i generally love a good vibes/plotless book, but this may be a little *too* vibes-based for me; simultaneously, really fantastic idea, i am a HUGE sucker for the "what is earth without humanity and humanity without earth" concept (iykyk) so will see how i feel when this ends

felt like enjoying a litfic. this is quite captivating so far. great protagonist.
