Amazing info, tough writing style. I have to be laser focused when reading this as the writing style doesn’t do anything in terms of captivating me. However the content is superb.

Pretty much unreadable. Needlessly esoteric in prose.

Taleb goes on to say that he read 30-60 hours per week while passing his courses at announcing. This is his barbell method of learning. It allowed him to learn things in his own way rather than learning from the viewpoints of one author (of a text book for example). One of the best chapters in the book so far.

Taleb has covered the barbell in relation to learning. He said he has become an autodidact in spite of his degrees. A topic who h I have thought about a lot as of late. Is a university education required to be 'educated' on a given topic? In some fields yes, in many fields no.

Currently covering atrogenics and inverse-iatrogenics, naive interventionism and a bunch of other fun stuff. I found it humorous how he had a sub chapter called 'How To Kill Legally' and said you just need to give money to whomever you want dead, in order to visit a doctor. The stats on iatrogenics are atrocious.

Stopped reading this, not because it wasn't good. It's very good. The fact is it's just not as good as Thinking Fast and Slow by DK. They are very similar, and I got other things to learn. Still a great starter book for anyone looking at how irrational us humanz be.

I tapped out... I can't stand his writing. I don't find it easy to follow along and I find parts of it so boring that I literally forget what he is attempting to prove. The content is very interesting at times, but I find my mind wandering far too much to keep reading.
