It is a campy enemies to lovers so far. There isn’t so much an overarching plot, as of yet, other than these two trying to kill each other.

The latter half of this book has taken a drastic trudge through the muck. The pacing has hit an all time low, and the characterization taking place is not a glamorous one.

So far I like it! It’s a cliche, gaudy D&D party and world, fumbling through their first combat. It’s a nice contrast to what is assumed to be a darker, macabre setting.

So far the book is a bit slow to start. There’s some treachery sewn, that the Lady Macbeth is far more clever than she lets on. But there is so much talk of her and her virginity, her body, that it places an odd pacing. She is young, and clever, but always shaken and afraid of everything around her.
