-The oppression of all other peoples derives mainly from the oppression of black people.
-Didn’t know that a major security brand was responsible for schools being surveilles such as prisons, deportations etc etc all for the sake of capitalizing.
-Mistreatment and abuse learns their mistakes from previous regimes and gets stronger it’s our duty to keep each other safe and starve them.

They -and I …ugh . This is why the book should’ve been longer but character development also shouldn’t take up 300+ pages of your novel unless it is a character driven book, which this is not.

This book is sooo good right now . I’m mad it’s short but maybe it’s for artistic purposes where you can’t add more ´cause it won’t benefit the story

KKK members portrayed as actual monsters ( like need to be killed with silver, their arms fall off and they just continue being disruptive, they have 6 eyes) . The beginning of this read I wasn’t interested …..I’m glad I stuck out the full 30 minutes to read this story

There’s a lot of sadness going on in this area of the book. We are first introduced to Kossula as him being lonely and begging for company now we see how he has gotten to this lonely place everyone he loves does not make it for circumstances that just keep happening and time after time again.

It’s not that I forget the tragedies my ancestors have been through before me, but it is the retelling of history through the victors voices . Black people were slaves the end. We can’t even get that far now because of the erasure of CRT materials , when in reality it’s not a theory it’s history . To go from everything to nothing doing lots of labor and getting nowhere even when one of the weights are removed

Miss Zora Neale Hurston does an amazing job at not coding Mr.Lewis’ language to be a “ formal” way of speaking english. His voice is purely his own as he breaks down the class of “Africans” from where he’s from in chapter one and two.

Unfortunately i didn’t know spotify premium only allowed 15 hours of audiobook time a month . So this where i am as of now . In this part of the book where I left off it’s (certain) covid time and health and new projects after snl are on the table . Fortunately for leslie her hemorrhoid surgery and the covid were right on time for her recovery

Learn about your parents as humans. Hug your parents. Understand their limitations. Live your life. BECOME FUCKING UNDENIABLE , never leave a room without making your essence known. SILENCE THE DOUBT. Fight the haters . Walk in your light.
