I don’t think that people accept the fact that life doesn’t make sense. I think it makes people terribly uncomfortable.

Its almost like a absurd joke on the entire existence when someone in every while discuss things like the future of our countries or something you know on a profound scale that involves more than just a few thousand people..its absurd cause its ridiculous to change something which is remotely far away from our control. In a way such people are more pessimistic than they’ll ever know!

I originally bought this book 5 years ago for venturing into screenwriting and eventually given up the book and now it feels like i am just reading something that intuitively i know all about already..i mean what it takes to make something and not just screenplays but a dish, a marathon or a beautiful photograph but what i feel like missing entirely is the Will, spirit or something like that energy…Its bit sad

I dream of a quiet man who explains nothing and defends
nothing, but only knows where the rarest wildflowers are blooming, and who goes, and finds that he is smiling not by his own will.

A rational society cannot understand this man or his teachings or awakenings…rational enquiry has nothing to do with a spiritual self-enquiry. Thinking is merely a part of how the brain works in parallel without any cantered headquarter.

“Reasons for consolation — When someone dies, we usually need reasons to be consoled, not to so much to soften the force of our pain, as to excuse the fact that we feel consoled so easily.”

Nietzsche is cold lmao!

Nothinngs wrong about reason and science except when its the exclusive approach to understanding life i think!…Its not much matter of which one is at edge, a scientific mind or the religious fervour, when one is fanatic enough to cloud one’s own belief system above “truth” … and one may never find the truth if we don’t even know what “the truth” is really?

Theres a difference between reading and a reader…a reader consumes, eats and chew books while reading is living..you read and live it at the same time. If it makes no real life difference then its just reading..like watching movies and listening music…its just a fkin routine…

Another short chapter on “Reading” was not much of interesting to me of any sort! I keep sensing that this book maybe only good for its primal message which is “absolute simplicity and reductionism of life”so we can see it face to face in its most raw form. But mostly its full of words and sentences.

Thoreau spent all talks in this book so far which he saved for silence during living in Walden alone! LOL!

The edition that i have of this book has total 280 pages of which first chapter Economics is of 70 pages alone. I completed 1/4th on first day reading, highly unusual for my fragile impatient mind.

As this is a very anticipated book for me from years, i would conclude first 40 pages is only worthy of interest for North American readers as its their own houses history etc.

Thoreau holds a holy figure in my world

Good bits so far >

Mind identification
False self (ego)
Time delusion
Past and future labelling

Bad bits >

Emotions as pain-body
Lot of other unnecessary talk.

Mostly its a book that has introduced me lot of important things to reflect about! Thats the best so far i can say on this as positive as possible.

I want to read lot of books on both sides and serious ones but i think its impossible for me to become a believer ever. Nor was i ever cause i just was habitually following, reacting to what i saw from childhood around society. And i did it as long as i stayed completely limited to any other perception about this. So i think to myself now, when did i ever lost my faith? Never cause i never found one.

Weird why i bought this one! I hope i don’t get indulged in it and into real life cause i felt this subject has been too drastic for me over the last few years.

The essence of the vast and powerful influence of this single man in history of humanity on me is my life itself. Everything my intuition tells me or asks from is Camus.

I hope this book doesn’t end ever. Reading it like some sun ripped perfect wine.
