This book is hella reductive…

I’m skeptical of this book. It’s based entirely on online surveys conducted over a decade ago of around 10k people (which inherently will come with bias and sample size issues). It focuses on “biological sex” and ignores trans and non-binary experience of womanhood. Evolutionary psychology also has issues with its ability to test whether the root cause of human behaviors are actually due to adaptations.

This book is sooooo cheesy in places. It’s like part fact sheet part Hallmark. I still like it though.

What a weird ride.

So far this isn’t great writing from a fiction standpoint. But from a historical standpoint (i.e., facts) it’s very good. I’m hoping things feel less stilted as the chapters progress.

This book is phenomenally well-written.
