16 pages in and this is looking amazing! My first ever Kuang read!

I am in for a ride! 36 pages in and there's so much to unpack. An effortlessly captivating and beautiful narration, as expected from the one and only. Hanya Yanagihara, you are a gem to the literature world. This book is going to keep me up all night, but I'll savour it.

Finished the second book. Had to put this one down quite a number of times. The emotional rollercoaster remained potent, especially towards the end, however the plot was seemingly lacklustre.

DNF.

Finished reading the first of three instalments the book offers — Washington Square. Yanagihara once again excels at crafting a story so tender that I too, when arrived at the conflict, seemed to be influenced by David's strong feelings towards Edward, rather than rationalizing the preceding events. Edward, you charming bastard.

My first ever book with a trans protagonist, who also resembles many of Moshfegh's characters. Unhinged and perverse, yet engrossing!
