I am hating this fucking book. It's making me so angry.

Having a hard time w/this book. I can't relate to Oona AT ALL. She's young, rich, gorgeous, goes out to parties + raves, drinks a ton, does a lot of drugs. But I'm supposed to empathize w/how lost she feels bc there's also this weird annual time shift thing happening? gurl. GURL. I'm 49, fat, and broke, eating Raman noodles for dinner and it ain't the fancy New York kind from a local diner. I honestly can't with you.

The only thing more cuckoo-beans than this book is the fact that everything in it actually happened! I'm almost done listening to the audio and have been riveted to the tale of this dumbo who only got away with his crimes as long as he did because of the lax security that allows society to appreciate the art that Mister Butterfingers just had to own. To think of all the stupid ways this criminal gave himself away...

WHY AREN'T THEY ALL GATHERED TOGETHER TO KEEP AN EYE ON EACH OTHER?

My god I'm so annoyed with these fools. I'm a fucking potato head but I'd survive this ride longer than any of them merely by adhering to the "Stay Together" principle. These are grown-ass adults but they somehow haven't grasped the concept of "Never Split Up" It truly boggles the mind.

About 70% thru this & unclear why it's referred to as a Locked Room Mystery, which only works if there's... only one room, LOCKED. Yeah, they're on a train, which makes it a locked BUILDING mystery, but the idiots remain separated into individual rooms, NONE of which remain locked. They regularly open their doors to each other or come out to eat or wander about or gather to see who the latest victim is. Infuriating!

Ive never felt so seen. I'm less than 30% thru this book + it's tearing me apart. Wish I'd started it sooner cuz it's THAT good. But I'm simultaneously awed by serendipitous timing— I began reading it a couple wks after my OCD diagnosis. Somehow I didn't realize that's what I'd be getting into. I won it on GR but I'd already forgotten why it appealed to me. Now I know. It's lovely, painful, brutally honest, + deep.
