Okay, I'll admit it. I've been avoiding this book as of late. And now that I'm close to the end, I'm terrified. Nothing has happened, and I'm not exaggerating. Action? Practically nonexistent. Romance? Also nonexistent, with the exception of about two pages. I loved, loved, loved both Graceling and Fire. How can this series end this way? :'(

Wow, this is a LONG book, but I'm flying right through it.

Enjoying the duel perspective, but wondering if Malva is going to grow up a little by the end of this. Granted she's fifteen, but she is a little silly. Why would she throw herself willingly into danger and near starvation just for the sake of reaching a country that may not even exist, that a drunken pirate mentioned to her once?

Now this is getting interesting. But I still have no idea what's going on...

Huh. 200 pages in and I have no idea what to make of this book so far. All these weird things keep happening and there's no explanation yet as to why. I'm really feeling bad for Vega Jane, and I hope she finds a way out of Wormwood, eventually.

I just started this book and I can already tell this vocabulary is going to be a distraction. What is a "Nida"? A "shuck"? How am I supposed to feel frightened by a threat to the MC when I don't even know what it means? *Grumbles*

Well, Leck finally resurfaced. I know he's the baddie of the series, but I certainly did not miss his character.

Hmmm...I see where the story's going with Fire and Brigan and I'm still not entirely convinced. I want to know why he attacked her when they first met. It can't be because her father was evil, because his father was evil, too.

Love the descriptions of King's City. Beautiful!

I like Fire. But I still don't like Brigan. And I'm not a huge fan of Archer, either. At this point, I'm kind of hoping that Fire just forgets having a love interest.

I may be speaking too soon, but I could possibly be as in love with this book as I am with Graceling. :))

Okay. So I had planned to read Bitterblue before Fire, because I wanted to read about Katsa and Po, but fate had other plans. I found a used copy of FIRE for $5 at Hastings and couldn't resist. I loved everything about GRACELING and I'm craving that same level of awesomeness.

This book is beautifully written. I never would have believed it was self-published.

Wow, what a great twist! I sense some serious internal conflict in store for the MC.

I like this book, but it feels disjointed from the rest of the series. Kind of like how Indiana Jones 4 seemed like it was tacked on to the original trilogy.

Huh. Well I didn't see that coming. Poor Emma.

I am so addicted to this book. Like, Hunger Games addicted.

Well, my Kindle is temporarily out of commission, so this book is on hold. *Grumbles*

"You are from WAY out of town," the wizardling breathed, her eyes alive with interest.
LOL. I just remembered why I like Leesha so much.

Wow, the language in this book is really beautiful. I was iffy about the romance at first but I'm starting to like Logan a little bit more. I'm excited to see where the story leads...

Okay, now I see where this is going. I wonder when the old characters come into the story. I want to see what Jack and Seph and Maddie are up to!

I'm always confused at the beginning of these novels. Where did the shades come from suddenly? They weren't in any of the other books. How does Emma factor in to this? Her role seems so misplaced right now. Ah, well. I'm sure it will start to make sense at some point.

WTH??? Okay, I should not be laughing right now but this is so messed up. I can't believe Katsa and Bitterblue just went through all that, finally arrived safely at Po's castle, and this is how Chapter 35 begins? Are you serious right now???

Aww, I'm sad that Katsa had to leave Po behind. I really like him. :(

So King Leck is a total psycho. And here I thought Randa was the villain of the story.

This keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what's waiting at King Leck's castle...

Well, it happened. I'm addicted now. So much for getting the dishes done tonight.

Okay, I'll be honest. I was if-y about this at first. An assassin who doesn't want to kill people, but who will torture a child to prevent her from seeing her thoughts? WTH? But now I'm liking the story, and Katsa, a lot more.

I like when books switch to the baddie's POV, especially when it's a bad/good guy like Micah Bayar.
