Am going to finish this book because is easy to listen to during my drive, and I am already so far along. Picked randomly and is first Shady Palms mystery I've read. Will be my last. Author didn't do her homework. Shelbyville, IL is a real town, and it is absolutely nothing like author has portrayed Shady Palms, which is supposedly in same county. Nope.

This book is not doing it for me. Yes, okay, the illustrations and artwork are great. And?

This book is like a textbook about the history of the Targaryens, but...oh wait...it's fiction! This tome is WAY too long for this style. I returned the library book and now have sped the audiobook to 1.5 speed in the hope of getting through the last 6 hours ASAP.

I'M 40% through the book...high-end NY restaurant, decent writing, booze, coke, f'd up self-centered 20-somethings, bad relationships, spilled plates, appetizing descriptions of food. Someone PLEASE tell me this book gets more compelling!
