My sister is a big fan of the series, but I'm not getting close to liking the book. The writing style is hard for me to read and understand. It's so simple and no prose. World-building is sloppy. I would have expected by the end of the first chapter the author had fleshed out a fantastical world. Pfft! Dead wrong! There's a vague description of a medieval-ish town and period, but no other clues to establish a world.
