DNFing because I'm not down to read about a child being beaten with a metal rod in graphic detail

this audiobook is due tomorrow and I still have a few hours to go and honestly I've been so bored for a lot of this book because it says it's sci-fi but there actually isn't any sci-fi in here but now I'm so close to the end I should just finish ugh

it's been 12 years since I read this book and unfortunately it doesn't hold my attention the way it did then

listen, if a book doesn't interest me within the first 10% then I really no longer feel the need to keep going with it
