This book is so good it’s unreal. The critique of society, colonialism, and patriarchy is woven into the fantasy world with such precision. The worldbuilding is brilliant!

I hate Eilidh so fucking much. Classic youngest-sibling syndrome: always the favorite, always coddled, and still somehow ends up having daddy issues… He loves her, excuses her, lets her off the hook, while the other two get nothing but coldness and contempt. It’s exhausting to read.

I decided to request this e-arc since it’s most likely going to be April’ book for the FairyLoot Adult box and I wanted to see if you should skip it or not. So far it’s not groundbreaking but it’s still fun… we’ll see I guess
