I an L I V I N G for Mary Lancaster's writing...I couldn't have imagined historical romance can be so light and funny and still have decent amount of plot without being too heavy...it's the perfect balance of all the things I care for in my romances and I am ready to cry with gratitude to whomever recommended her books to me

Also did I say that it is FUNNY AS HECK.

Daisy getting exasperated and non ironically saying *Bother* just made me snort into my coffee...I am so enjoying the setting and the girls and the characters of this middle-grade mystery and I refuse to be ashamed of it.

My heart is BReaking for Daisy..

If I hear "I’m the President and you’re only the Secretary. Honestly, Hazel!" One more time, I'm quitting this...

I can see the point a lot of reviewers made about Daisy being obnoxious and sometimes downright mean 'but in a nice English way' to Hazel, but I enjoy the plot and the mystery so I'll soldier on.
I really love Hazel and I'm glad we get her take on things through her narration.

Okay...a spoiled heroine and a guy with an EYEPATCH and half of his fingers missing...I have NO IDEA where this is going....but I'm still holding on.

This is my first cozy murder mystery so I don't quite know what to expect...but it's cute and I like it...
Had to skip the second story because my Gosh the self fat-shaming was just too much for me.

This is CUTE..and it makes me hungry for some Christmas cookies. Which would be fine if it wasn't midnight!!?!

Things are starting to HAPPEN and I know it sounds wrong to use that word when describing a murder mystery, but I'm *enjoying* this book so much so far...

Trying to get used the format but really enjoying it so far. Pip is truly a character
