Ok so I'm guessing [redacted] <spoiler>(how do you do spoiler tags on here?? Let's see...) </spoiler>

Considering dropping this one... the characters and conversations feel very one-dimensional. Yes it's similar in style to the old murder mystery shows, which I did love, but this just isn't doing it for me.

Still waiting for this book to start... intros and first chapter are just marketing. Crossing my fingers for the rest.

Gah, Sadie for most of this book so far. The particulars might be different, but yeah I remember living through all this, having all those same thoughts and justifications for the world being like this. Given how popular the book is, it's depressing that this experience must be near universal for girls growing up. But not surprising.

Ok I am reluctantly liking this, despite cringing at the awkward game references.

There’s little I love more when exploring new ideas than recognising where else I’ve unwittingly seen them appear in other contexts.

For example, Chapter 8 can be augmented through watching RuPaul’s Drag Race! "If you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you gonna love somebody else?" 🙌

Still loving this book, and now eager to read more Epictetus because of this incredible phrasing:

"Under no circumstance ever say 'I have lost something', only 'I returned it'. Did a child of yours die? No, it was returned. Your wife died? No, she was returned."

Struggling not to think in Blockbuster metaphors.

Anyway go read this book, it's great!!
