Did I find three of my favorite books on the Middle Ages in a small bookstore? Yes, yes I did. Did I begin all three at the same time? …yes.

Here, Panofsky’s beautiful explanation of the similar manners in which simple stonemasons and brilliant scholastics portrayed theological truths, each being products of the same age.

I went into this knowing absolutely nothing, except for the title, the cover image of a guy floating through space, and “sci-fi.” Been listening via audiobook, which has been really entertaining. Every new chapter has been a delight to discover new things. Can’t wait to finish.

Listening via audiobook, about 7 hours left in a 21-hour book. Everything’s made sense, although I was a little confused during Paul and Jessica’s trek through the desert, and why Herbert made such a big emphasis on the third sandworm (the one Paul attracted by using a Thumper) when a) it wasn’t the first and b) it wasn’t the biggest. Otherwise, fascinated by where this is all going.
