I just finished listening to the preface of this book and felt a little bit of irony at the mention of Sylvia Plath since I’m currently reading the Bell jar and will now be unintentionally buddy reading it with this book. I’ve seen a lot of discourse about the bel jar being one dimensional with its feminism specifically people highlighting it’s draw towards white feminism. (Continuing in comments)

This book is already so beautifully written

This book is like a mix of anything by Penelope Douglas and the twisted series. This book is all tropes absolutely no yearning. Just annoying and weird.

Downloaded this on Libby because I’m waiting for the next book of my series to come off hold. This is my final shot for Ali Hazelwood who I think is decreasing in quality as a writer. So far is very cringe and once again, the MMC has an accent.

Yeah this is pissing me off, all of these character are annoying.

I hate when authors start making characters make completely illogical decisions for plot progression. Like you’re telling me the most powerful character in the universe whose entire storyline in the first book was the antithesis of what her character is now is going to allow herself to be used because killing her king is… immoral?? As if it’s moral to let yourself be used as a ragdoll of mass destruction 🤨

Nothing in a book irks me more than miscommunication. Like all you guys had to do was let each other know what you knew and non of this would be a problem right now.

This series is just what I needed. Something that is intense enough to keep my attention, but not so high stakes that it stresses me out. Plus we love VE Schwab <3

Part 1 made my heart so happy w the trio being back together. I have no doubt on my mind Pierce Brown is going to ruin my happiness in the next three parts.
